A classic reborn — the legendary sound of the 1963 Fender Spring Reverb returns as a modern stompbox. BOSS and Fender USA have collaborated to create the FRV-1, a stunning recreation of the legendary ’63 Fender Reverb via COSM technology. The FRV-1 puts that timeless tube-driven reverb sound under your foot in a tough, reliable compact pedal.
A timeless classic — the Fender Spring Reverb is the sound that launched the surf-music phenomenon, and is a staple of rockabilly, country, and blues. Later, it became commonplace in grunge and other modern genres. Now the same legendary sound can be had in an affordable, rugged compact pedal.
I'm back to 1963! As a surfer growing up in Southern California in the late 1950's & early 1960's I was weaned on the reverb drenched guitars of the Surf Bands at the time. My old band at the time utilized the 1963 Fender Reverb unit along with the huge Fender Dual Showman amps. We loved the sound. Over the years that sound was lost but not any more. This Boss FRV-1 is a perfect match for the sound produced by the old Fender Reverb Unit. You can even get that Slappy Reverb sound that is used on many of the old surf instrumental. At our first gig the crowd was stunned by the sound. I don't think most of them had ever heard that sound in person before. Mr. Moto just ROCKED! Thanks Boss and Fender for teaming up on this product it's an overall winner. If you want an authentic Fender Reverb sound BUY IT!
