The Boss Katana Amplifier Series includes some of the most innovative amps on the market. Whether it’s the blind test-passing tube amp models or the robust built-in effects, these amplifiers are loved by players and engineers alike, on stage or in the studio. They are extremely popular with both associates and customers here at George's Music.
Here are a few reasons why every guitar player and studio engineer NEEDS a Katana in their arsenal:
USB Connectivity & Record OUT
The Katana Amplifiers have a built-in USB interface that allows for simple recording directly into your DAW without comprising tone. The USB output transmits a stereo signal into your DAW so you can capture the spatially deep and tonally rich onboard stereo effects. The Tone Studio companion software allows you to select the type of cab emulation and emulated mic placement when using USB and the Headphone/Record Out.
Already have an interface?
Utilizing the Record Out from the headphone jack works well with this type of signal flow in addition to being a great headphone amp with cab simulation for silent practicing. The Record Out also works well if you're using an outboard signal chain before your interface.
Power Control
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Katana Amplifiers is that they sound and feel like a tube amp. This is all thanks to BOSS’ innovative Tube Logic technology and Waza speaker design. This comes in handy when trying to manage stage volume while gigging out or practicing at home, but especially in a recording studio environment. Turning down the Power Control allows you to dial in amazing tube amp tones without the excessive volume that comes along with dialing a traditional tube amp.
This is perfect when live micing in your home studio!
Powered Cabinet
The Katana Amplifiers can also be utilized as a powered cab for preamp pedals and non-powered modeling pedals and/or amps. These amps are also the perfect companion for the BOSS GT-1000 in a live or studio setting.
