The Epiphone Explorer is a modern recreation of the radical electric guitar originally launched by Gibson in 1958. With its angular body and powerful tone, the Explorer defined the spirit of rock and roll rebellion. Now Epiphone has reintroduced this legendary ax for today's generation of boundary-pushing guitarists.
The Explorer's solid mahogany body provides fuller tone with enhanced sustain and resonance. Its carved top and beveled edges give this icon a sleek, futuristic style that still looks ahead of its time. A gloss ebony finish highlights the Explorer's iconic shape while protecting the mahogany from wear and tear.
A pair of Epiphone ProBucker humbucking pickups deliver the crunchy, overdriven tones the Explorer is known for. The ProBucker-2 in the neck position has a slightly warmer output, while the hotter ProBucker-3 in the bridge snarls with attitude. They're wired to a 3-way selector switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, providing a range of tones from clean to raunchy.
The Explorer's set mahogany SlimTaper neck and 22-fret Indian laurel fingerboard enable fast, low-action playing. The neck's thin, comfortable profile and 12" radius make string bending and complex chords a breeze. Dot inlays provide quick visual reference points along the fingerboard.
Grover Mini tuners, a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece keep the Explorer perfectly in tune while enhancing sustain. The Tune-O-Matic bridge adjusts string height for your preferred action. Combined with the Explorer's resonant tonewoods and hot pickups, this high-performance hardware unleashes the full potential of this legendary rock guitar.
