Georges Music is proud to announce an expanded selection of guitar amps from Vox at select locations! These amps were part of the original British Invasion and are known world-wide for their tube tone. Want to find out what Vox is all about? Read on!Vox, Latin for voice, is one of the oldest musical equipment manufacturers in the world. Accordion player Thomas W. Jennings founded the Jennings Organ Company in England in the late 1940s, and collaborated with guitarist Dick Denney to create electric guitar amplifier prototypes in the 1950s. The 15-watt Vox AC15 was launched in 1958 and was the first major success under the Vox name.15 all-tube watts can be quite loud, but even so, players started asking for a louder AC15. Thus, the AC30 was born a dual-speaker version of the AC15 with twice as much power. AC30s enjoyed widespread use by landmark groups of early rock and roll, including the Beatles (in one of the industrys first artist endorsement deals), the Rolling Stones, the Kinks, and the Yardbirds. During the Beatles heyday, Thomas Jennings himself designed and supplied special higher-wattage amps to the group as they played larger venues. These artists helped cement Vox as a legendary brand, and the amps were later used by groups like Queen, U2, Radiohead, the Who, Deep Purple, Tom Petty, Oasis, and more. So, why did the AC15 and the AC30 grow so popular so fast? Because they sound great! Vox AC amps are simple, all-tube designs that deliver a creamy response and an unbelievable overdrive when cranked up. You might recognize the sound from some of your favorite recordings! ACs also have a separate top boost channel that gives an extra treble punch and often pushes the amp into that sweet overdriven section. Youve got to hear it to believe it. Check out the AC15 here! We are also carrying the AC15VR, which combines tube and solid-state technology, and the AC1RV, an amp for those on the go. Dont forget about the AC4TV either!Stop in to Georges Music today and check out Vox!
