The Buescher Aristocrat “Big B” Alto Saxophone—serial number 3217XX, crafted in 1948—is a standout example of postwar American saxophone excellence. Built in Elkhart, Indiana during Buescher’s golden years, this horn is a part of the iconic Series II Aristocrat line, instantly recognized by its large stylized “B” bell engraving.

Our featured item dates from 1948 and is Serial Number 1693XX. Often described as a “Committee III” model, the intrinsic sound quality is conceived by its’ core layer of brass and the intensive mechanism build that companies back in the “Golden-Age” of manufacturing forged as common fair. Of course, this is not your common saxophone by a long shot.

This tenor saxophone, branded “Dorn & Kirschner” and bearing serial number 785X, is an early stencil instrument manufactured by The Martin Band Instrument Company.
