The YDP-184 is Yamaha's most advanced Arius digital piano. From the cabinet to the sounds to the features to the keys, the entire instrument has been examined and redesigned to ensure it carries Yamaha's best technology and craftsmanship.

The redesigned interface lets you browse 24 instrument Voices with ease, and Yamaha took care to include a shortcut straight to the world-class CFX concert grand piano Voice. Whatever instrument or song file you're in, one touch gets you back to the YDP-184's main attraction — its breathtaking piano sound — while the Full Dot LCD display keeps navigation clear and uncluttered.

New to the Arius series, the YDP-184 features Yamaha's Stereophonic Optimizer, which creates a realistic sense of spaciousness when listening via headphones. Research indicates that a significant percentage of peoples' time spent at their digital home piano is spent under headphones, so Yamaha developed a better processor for headphone signals from the piano.

Through the onboard stereo speaker system you can enjoy the realism of Virtual Resonance Modeling and high-quality digital effects. Play along with built-in rhythm patterns, capture ideas with the built-in 16-track MIDI recorder, and practice side by side using Duo mode. And with over a century of acoustic piano manufacturing heritage behind it, it only makes sense that the best digital piano action can be found on a Yamaha.

Concert Grand At Home

The CFX Premium Grand Piano Voice recreates Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand, and a dedicated shortcut gets you back to it from any Voice or song file with one touch. It's the sound the whole instrument is built around.

Better Headphone Practice

Most time at a home digital piano is spent under headphones, so Yamaha built in the Stereophonic Optimizer to process the headphone signal for a realistic sense of spaciousness. Late-night sessions feel open and natural instead of closed-in.

Practice That Sticks

Built-in drum rhythms give you a more musical alternative to a metronome, and Duo mode splits the keyboard into two halves with their own middle C so a student and teacher can play side by side. The 16-track MIDI recorder lets you capture and review what you played.

Graded Hammer 3X Action

The GH3 weighted, graded hammer keyboard uses three sensors and an escapement mechanism for authentic acoustic response across all 88 keys.

Virtual Resonance Modeling

VRM reflects the many interacting factors that create the sound of a real grand piano, adding depth and resonance as you play and pedal.

Key-Off Samples

Key-off sampling reproduces the subtle change in sound you hear when the damper falls back onto the string as a note is released.

24 Voices, 256-Note Polyphony

Twenty-four instrument Voices built on Yamaha CFX Sampling, with 256 notes of polyphony for dense passages and heavy pedal use.

Full Dot LCD Display

The redesigned Full Dot LCD interface makes browsing Voices, songs and functions quick and intuitive.

27 Digital Effects

Choose from 6 reverbs, 3 choruses, 7 brilliance settings and 11 master effects to shape your sound.
