The Gemeinhardt 3S is a well-established conservatory/intermediate-level flute from Gemeinhardt's highly regarded 3-series. Serial number 6377XX places this instrument in the 1982–1986 production period according to Gemeinhardt's serial-number records, so it was built during the company's peak production era in Elkhart, Indiana.
The 3S was designed to give advancing flute students an open-hole, French-style key system and an instrument suitable for developing technique and musical expression. This example carries the traditional configuration associated with the model: open-hole French-style keys, an inline G, a solid silver headjoint paired with a silver-plated body and mechanism, and a standard C footjoint.
The highlighted instrument in this advertisement shows little wear on the key mechanism. There are some very slight feather scratches throughout the flute, but no dings, pings or dents. Our technician has adjusted it for general playing conditions and it comes with a hard-shell case.
