The PDP Concept Series Black Wax Maple Snare offers a dark, smooth, matte finish that comes from a hand-applied, wax-based sealer. Instead of covering up the wood, the wax shows off the understated beauty of the Maple grain — this is a specialty snare with real visual character.
At the heart of it is a 10-ply European Maple shell that produces a mid-range pitch with full attack and warm tone. In a 6x12 size, it works beautifully as a second voice next to your main snare or as a compact, focused primary snare.
Like all Concept Series snare drums, the Black Wax models come outfitted with PDP's dual-turret lugs along with DW's MAG throw-off and True Pitch tension rods for precise, stable tuning.
