Elixir's OPTIWEB Coated electric guitar strings are made for players who want tone that lasts without losing the feel of an uncoated string. The featherweight OPTIWEB Technology is engineered to let the string vibrate freely, delivering the same crisp tone you'd expect from a traditional nickel-plated steel set.

The difference is in the protection. Elixir coats the whole string — not just the outer surface, but the gaps between the windings where dirt, sweat and gunk collect and choke your tone. Anti-Rust Plating takes care of the plain steel strings, so the entire set stays consistent instead of dying one string at a time.

Under your fingers, OPTIWEB offers a firm, precise grip that keeps you in control of bends, vibrato and sustain. Pair that with real resistance to corrosion, acidic hands and high humidity, and these strings keep your guitar sounding great gig after gig, session after session.

  • 6-string electric set, gauges .009, .011, .016, .024, .032, .042
  • OPTIWEB Coating for natural, uncoated-string feel
  • Nickel-plated steel round wound windings over a steel core
  • Anti-Rust Plating on the plain steel strings
  • Protects the entire string, including between the windings

Included in the package are:

Tone That Lasts

Elixir Strings hold their out-of-the-box tone longer than any other brand's strings, so your guitar sounds great gig after gig and session after session. Fewer string changes, more playing.

Feels Like Uncoated

OPTIWEB Technology is featherweight enough that these feel and sound like a traditional uncoated string. You get the longevity of a coated set without the slick, plasticky feel.

Control Your Expression

The natural grip of the OPTIWEB surface puts you in command of bends, wide vibrato and sustain. It's the kind of string response expressive players rely on.

OPTIWEB Coating

Elixir's most natural-feeling and natural-sounding electric string coating, specially engineered to let the string vibrate freely.

Full-String Protection

The coating protects the whole string, including the gaps between the windings where dirt, sweat and gunk build up and kill your tone.

Anti-Rust Plating

The plain steel strings get Anti-Rust Plating so the entire set keeps its tone, not just the wound strings.

Nickel-Plated Steel Windings

Round wound nickel-plated steel wrap wire delivers the crisp, familiar tone electric players expect.

Steel Core

A steel core anchors the set for consistent response across all six strings.

Corrosion Resistance

Exclusive Elixir technology stands up to common corrosion and rust, sweaty acidic hands and high humidity.
