Not every ES-335 fan is after the same guitar. Just as the Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s gave players the chance to pick the era that suits them best, Gibson now offers that same choice to ES-335 players. The ES-335 50s delivers the classic features of the earliest ES-335 models, first introduced in 1958.

The semi-hollow, thinline body is crafted from three-ply maple, poplar, and maple with a solid maple centerblock that increases sustain while greatly reducing feedback. Single-ply cream binding wraps the top and back, and the guitar wears a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The mahogany neck sports a beefier Rounded C profile that feels satisfyingly substantial in the hand, capped with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and simple acrylic dot inlays that mirror the look of the early "dot neck" ES-335 models.

A pair of Custombucker pickups with Alnico 3 magnets supplies the voice, renowned for delivering the tonal magic of those early, highly prized Patent Applied For humbuckers from the late 1950s. Each is wired to its own hand-wired 500k volume and tone control, and a three-way toggle switch covers the wide tonal range the ES-335 is famous for. Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons team up with a Graph Tech nut for stable tuning, while the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece add sustain and allow comprehensive adjustment of action height and individual string intonation.

A '59-style five-ply long pickguard, Top Hat knobs, nickel hardware, and a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown headstock inlay complete the vintage-inspired look. A Gibson hardshell case and accessory kit come along for the ride. This is the ES-335 for players who prefer the larger neck profile and cosmetics of those earliest models.

Play Loud Without Feedback

The solid maple centerblock running through the semi-hollow body increases sustain while greatly reducing feedback. You get the airy, resonant character of a thinline with far more usable headroom on stage.

Late-'50s Humbucker Magic

Custombucker pickups with Alnico 3 magnets are renowned for delivering the tonal character of those early, highly prized Patent Applied For humbuckers. Hand-wired 500k volume and tone controls per pickup, plus a three-way toggle, cover the tonal range the ES-335 is famous for.

A Neck With Substance

The mahogany neck's Rounded C profile is beefier than later-era ES-335s and feels satisfyingly substantial in the hand. If you've always preferred the bigger vintage carve, this is the ES-335 built for you.

Three-Ply Semi-Hollow Body

The thinline body is crafted from three-ply maple, poplar, and maple with single-ply cream binding around the top and back.

Solid Maple Centerblock

A solid maple centerblock runs through the body to boost sustain and tame feedback at volume.

Rounded C Mahogany Neck

The glued-in mahogany neck uses the beefier Rounded C profile found on the earliest ES-335 models, with a 24.75" scale length.

Bound Rosewood Fingerboard

The bound rosewood board has a 12" radius and carries 22 medium jumbo frets.

Acrylic Dot Inlays

Simple acrylic dot inlays mirror the look of the original "dot neck" ES-335 guitars.

Custombucker Alnico 3 Pickups

Matched Custombucker humbuckers with Alnico 3 magnets sit in the neck and bridge positions under nickel covers.
