Gibson J-45 Standard Acoustic Electric Guitar - Translucent Teal

The J-45 is the best-selling Gibson acoustic model of all time. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" and first introduced in 1942, it became the cornerstone of Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought line and is world-renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection. The J-45 Standard delivers a sound with incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and tight, punchy bass.

The round-shoulder dreadnought body is built with solid mahogany back and sides paired to a solid Sitka spruce top with traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing. The top is multi-ply bound, the back single-ply bound. The mahogany neck carries a fast, comfortable SlimTaper profile and is secured with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint for superior tonal transfer and sustain, topped with a rosewood fretboard, 20 standard frets, and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays.

The headstock displays the Gibson logo inlaid in mother-of-pearl and holds Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with kidney buttons, which team with the TUSQ nut for smooth, stable tuning. A traditional belly-up rosewood bridge with TUSQ saddle and bridge pins, a teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard, and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish complete the classic look.

An L.R. Baggs VTC under-saddle pickup and preamp system puts volume and tone controls inside the soundhole, easy for the player to reach and all but invisible to the audience. With natural-sounding electronics on board and a Gibson hardshell case included, the J-45 Standard is stage- and studio-ready right out of the box.
