Gibson J-45 Standard Acoustic Electric Guitar - Vintage Sunburst

The J-45 is the best-selling Gibson acoustic model of all time. Introduced in 1942 and nicknamed "The Workhorse," it became the cornerstone of Gibson's round-shoulder dreadnought line and is renowned for its full, balanced expression, warm bass, and excellent projection. The J-45 Standard refines that legacy with incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and tight, punchy low end.

A solid Sitka spruce top sits over traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing, paired with solid mahogany back and sides. Multi-ply binding frames the top while single-ply binding trims the back, and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish completes the classic look that has made the J-45 a musical and cultural icon. The traditional belly-up rosewood bridge carries a TUSQ saddle and bridge pins, and a teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard reinforces the familiar J-45 look.

The mahogany neck is shaped to a fast, comfortable SlimTaper profile and secured with a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint for superior tonal transfer and sustain. Its rosewood fingerboard holds 20 standard frets and simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays, while the headstock wears the mother-of-pearl Gibson logo along with Grover Rotomatic tuners that pair with the TUSQ nut for smooth, stable tuning.

Inside, the J-45 Standard is fitted with the all-new Gibson-exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. Two lightweight sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate each run into their own custom-voiced class A studio-quality preamp before being blended for an optimized output, capturing string detail and body resonance that under-saddle pickups often miss — with no impact on the acoustic tone and comparable gain before feedback. Soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls stay within easy reach and out of sight, and with the included Gibson hardshell case the guitar is ready for the stage, studio, or rehearsal room from the moment you open it.
