The new Les Paul Standard returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved — shaping sound across generations and genres of music. The Les Paul Standard 60s pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation, delivering the features found on Les Paul models from the very early 1960s.
It starts with a non-weight-relieved solid mahogany body and an AA figured maple top, a combination that adds extra sustain and bite to mahogany's warmth and midrange punch. The mahogany neck is carved to a fast-playing SlimTaper profile for hours of comfortable play, while the bound Indian rosewood fretboard holds 22 medium jumbo frets and acrylic trapezoid inlays. The 12-inch radius is equally at home on first-position chords and big bends up the neck, with low action that won't choke out.
Two 60s Burstbucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets are hand-wired to individual volume and tone controls using audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors. A 3-way toggle selects either pickup alone or both together, and the independent controls let you blend them in any ratio. Gold Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors top it all off, just like the classic early 60s Standards.
Period-correct hardware rounds out the package: an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece, Grover Rotomatic tuners with Kidney buttons, and a Graph Tech nut that keeps tuning solid. A Gibson hardshell case is included to protect this icon in storage or on the road.
