The SE Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition keeps the feel, response, and playability that define the Silver Sky, then introduces a bold new visual character. For the Defender Color Collection, John Mayer and PRS looked beyond the guitar world to the contemporary Defender palette — decades of history and more than 900 colors — and selected four finishes for the SE Silver Sky: Petra Copper, Sedona Red, Carpathian Grey, and Woolstone Green.
Each color is paired with a black pickguard, a first for the Silver Sky model. A custom neck plate unique to the run and a custom gig bag complete the package.
Underneath, this is still very much a player's guitar. The poplar solidbody and bolt-on multi-ply maple neck carry a rosewood fretboard with an 8.5" radius, small bird inlays, and 22 PRS SE medium frets on a 25.5" scale. Three PRS 635JM "S" single-coils, voiced to PRS's own specification, deliver full, warm vintage-inspired tone with a musical high end that never gets ice-picky, and the PRS 2-point steel tremolo with vintage-style closed-back tuners keeps tuning solid night after night.
