The Yamaha PSR-E583 is a 61-key portable keyboard made for aspiring musicians who want an instrument that keeps up as they improve. With 890 Voices and 345 preset Styles, you can cover nearly any song or genre at the push of a button — electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings, plus a deep bank of World Content ranging from Afrobeats Ibo instruments to South American reeds and percussion to traditional organ Voices for worship.

Tone shaping runs deep. The DSP engine provides 41 DSP1 and 12 DSP2 effects for added texture, layering and accompaniment flexibility, while Super Articulation Lite Voices recreate the details of non-keyboard instruments — the scratch of guitar strings or a wind player's breath. The MIDI Song to Style app converts your existing standard MIDI files into dynamic Styles complete with intros, endings and drum fills.

Control is immediate and hands-on. Live Control Knobs let you assign and alter aspects of your sound while you play, the Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels bring Voices to life with slides and vibrato, and the Motion Effect button adds phasers, tremolo and other moving effects on demand. The grid panel layout and clear display screen keep Voices, Styles and functions within easy reach, and an optional expression pedal (sold separately) handles volume swells without tying up your hands.

For creating and performing, Quick Sampling records a short phrase and launches it on the next bar of the Style, the Looper captures chord progressions, drum patterns and phrases, and Auto Chord Play runs a predetermined progression so you can solo freely. Connectivity covers practice through stage: a mic input with studio-quality vocal effects, individual L/R outputs for PA and studio gear, a Mega Boost button for +6dB, USB TO DEVICE for data storage, and USB TO HOST (USB-C) for audio and MIDI with computers, smart devices and the Rec'n'Share app.

DESCRIPTION

From expressive solo performance to full-band arrangements at the touch of a button, the Yamaha PSR-E583 is built to help players expand their musical range. This advanced 61-key portable keyboard features an extensive library of 890 realistic Voices—from electric piano, organ and vibraphone to modern synth textures—paired with 345 responsive accompaniment Styles that intelligently follow left-hand chord input. Real-time performance controls, including Live Control Knobs, Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels, a clear display and Yamaha’s powerful Mega Boost function, support confident, expressive playing in a portable all-in-one instrument designed for home practice, songwriting and live performance.

With one of the most versatile sound libraries in its class, the PSR-E583 keyboard adapts easily to virtually any musical style. Its 890 Voices include detailed acoustic instruments, expressive electric tones and a wide range of synth textures, enhanced by Super Articulation Lite technology that recreates natural playing nuances such as guitar string noise and breath articulation. Complementing the sound engine are 345 accompaniment Styles across rock, jazz, dance, pop and world genres, supplying rhythmic, bass and chord backing that turns solo playing into a full ensemble experience.

The PSR-E583 places hands-on control at the center of its performance approach. Live Control Knobs allow real-time adjustment of tone-shaping parameters, while Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels add vibrato, rotary-style movement and smooth pitch transitions for expressive leads and solos. Yamaha’s Motion Effect button introduces dynamic effects such as phaser, tremolo and filter sweeps with a single press, and the Mega Boost function adds an instant +6dB volume lift—ideal for rehearsal or live performance situations where additional presence is needed.

Designed to encourage creativity without interrupting musical flow, the PSR-E583 includes Auto Chord Play, which automatically generates preset chord progressions so players can focus on melody, improvisation or sound exploration. Quick Sampling allows short phrases to be captured and triggered in sync with accompaniment Styles, while Yamaha’s DSP effects engine—with 41 DSP1 and 12 DSP2 effects—adds depth, movement and texture to both Voices and backing parts. Together, these tools support experimentation while keeping performances coherent and musical.

A clean grid-style panel layout and bright display make navigation fast and intuitive, keeping key Voices, Styles and functions within easy reach. Illuminated buttons provide clear visual feedback during performance, while the streamlined interface minimizes menu navigation and setup time. Whether switching sounds mid-song or adjusting effects on the fly, the PSR-E583 layout helps players stay focused on performance rather than system operation.

With flexible connectivity and content-creation support, the PSR-E583 fits equally well in practice, recording and performance environments. A microphone input allows players to sing while they play, while PA connectivity supports live gigs and small-venue performance. Yamaha’s Rec’n’Share app makes it easy to capture and share performances, and the MIDI Song to Style app can convert compatible MIDI files into fully arranged Styles with intros, endings and fills. Supplied with a music rest and power adapter, the Yamaha PSR-E583 arrives ready to play—offering a portable, capable platform for players progressing beyond entry-level keyboards.
